3

Manufacture

Silver's mission to build the best machines and the best men; is displayed in our timeless craftmanship and attention to detail. The art of high quality American metalworking must be.

Continuous Centrifugal

Silver Engineering has been manufacturing sugar processing equipment since 1934.

  • Control Panel Unit
  • Precise Controls
  • Optional Equipment
  • Model 4630
  • Model 5230

Complete process loop is continually and automatically monitored and adjusted to assure optimal performance with varying incoming massecuite consistencies. The operator interface panel allows simple visual analysis of current mode of operation with easy changing capability. Both units are robust in design and have excellent proven track records of dependability.

Precise manufacturing techniques are used throughout the manufacturing process; Each centrifugal basket is precision machined, assembled and balanced, and then test-run at over speed to improve integrity. All circuits, controls and lube systems, etc. are thoroughly tested to assure a complete, easy to install unit is delivered.
  • Magma Mixing - Allows for very little crystal damage and high brix magma will be produced.
  • Melting - Used in conjunction with the magma mixer, continually melts sugar inside centrifugal. Allows excellent control, 100% melt, maintaining 60-70% brix.
  • Syrup Separation - Allows beginning syrups to be separated from final syrup after wash media is applied. A durable valve is easily changed from one collection chamber to another.

History of Sugar Manufacturing

Silver Engineering has been manufacturing sugar processing equipment since 1934.

Silver Engineering Works was born in Denver Colorado in 1934; specializing in the invention and manufacturing of sugar and mining machinery. After success developing a variety of continuous machines, Silver was called on to design and build barges for the South Pacific theatre of WWII. Silver’s name became well known around the globe for producing American quality metal works, engineered products and manufacturing. After decades of growth, innovation, and equipment production, Silver found it’s fate left in the uncertain hands of new management through several foreign and domestic acquisitions. Silver’s shining beacon as an equipment supplier began to wane; to the dismay of people in the U.S. sugar market. The family owned and originated company was almost wiped off the map. 2016 marked the beginning of a new rise from obscurity. Returning to it’s family owned roots, the Applehans family acquired the Silver organization and a new manufacturing facility just miles away from the original Silver building. 2021 marks a year of return to American quality engineered equipment.
